New Vision Therapy (NVT) works to restore the body’s natural capacity to self heal by releasing the restrictions in the body that are having a negative impact on the balanced function of the nervous system.

Our bodies hold the archive of our life experiences.  Unresolved life experiences (trauma), both physical and emotional, can lock our nervous system into a state of ‘fight and flight’.

Fight and flight should mobilise our bodily system to respond in the face of perceived threat for a short period of time.  Our bodies shouldn’t stay there long-term.

Long term periods in ‘fight or flight’ compromise the nervous system and the self-healing capacity of the body.  Over time, this can impede the function of the systems that the nervous system controls, such as digestion, hormones, immune response, cardiac and respiratory function.  After a prolonged period, symptoms will start to develop.

In an NVT treatment, we seek to identify where the capacity to self-heal is compromised, clear the restrictions and restore the body’s innate capacity to rebalance itself and heal.

NVT may offer the missing link between body and mind when symptoms and conditions have become chronic (long-term) and treatment has become about managing the symptoms rather than alleviating them.

It can help support diagnosed conditions, making them more manageable, potentially reducing the need for medication, as well as the possible solution when symptoms may be present, you do not feel ‘right’, but the blood tests are negative and a diagnosis cannot be offered.

Equally, NVT may also be able to help someone who feels stuck in a cycle of thoughts and feelings that they don’t feel able to move forward from or has tried but not experienced a benefit from counselling.  This may be because the issues are in the tissues and need support in being cleared to help the mind move forward.

“It’s like day and night!  The pain has dissipated and not as noticeable.  Mentally feel a lot better.  I still feel a little dizzy sometimes.  Doing a lot of shoulder rolling as you said.  Can’t wait for the next session.  Thanks for your help.”

HM, Chest and neck discomfort, palpitations, digestive issues and feelings of stress and anxiety

“My shoulder and left arm have improved massively and the tension and pain in my neck and head has eased considerably.  Still having an occasional problem sleeping, but except for last night, it has been a bit better.  I feel I’m making progress.  Thanks.”

SL, Chronic shoulder and neck pain

“The morning after I went over to Mum’s and took her out.  My walking had improved, it felt like I was getting full extension through my knees and the limp felt smoother.  The next day, we did about a mile around the village, and my knees felt a bit better again, as though my knees had calmed down and my walking felt better too.

Today (5 days post treatment) I went for a bike ride – easy pace and keeping my heart rate low – I didn’t get any comfort whatsoever, my calves felt fine, no pain in the knee, and when I finished I felt fresh as a daisy.  I think you have had a big impact on my body, and it is as grateful to you as I am.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What to expect during a treatment?

If it is you first treatment, we’ll have a chat about how you are doing on the day and go through the information on your previously submitted consultation form.  If it’s a follow-up or maintenance treatment, we’ll have a quick catch-up about what’s been going on since the last time I saw you and how I can help you on the day.

Then we’ll help you get comfortable on the couch with support from bolsters and head blocks.  Generally, a treatment is conducted with the client lying on their back.  The treatment couch can be raised so you are not completely flat.

Initially, I’ll assess the body by gently resting my hands or finger tips on areas of the ,body and head to assess where the body wants support.  When this has been assessed we can begin the treatment in the area that the body drew us to.  This may be at or away from the area of discomfort.  Often, the root causes of symptoms can originate away from the site of discomfort.  We follow the body’s process of healing.

During the treatment, you may become aware of sensations such as heat and movement, a sense of relaxation in the areas being treated or shifts in perception during the treatment.  You are welcome to share what you are experiencing with me if you wish.  I may also ask you questions at times about the communication coming from the body.

At the end of the session, we’ll have an opportunity to share our experiences of the session if you wish, have a drink and prepare to leave.  It is best to allow yourself time after the appointment so that you don’t have to rush off.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing which allows you to relax and feel comfortable during your treatment.

It would be greatly appreciated if you didn’t wear Jeans as these can be hard-wearing on the hands!

Do I need to remove any clothing?

New Vision Therapy treatments are delivered through clothing.

Should I do anything after the treatment?

Following your treatment, we recommend that you:

  • Drink plenty of water to help flush out impurities and detoxify the body.
  • Try not to over exert yourself for the rest of the day to enhance the treatment and allow the body to heal.
  • Take care whilst driving, you will be in a relaxed state and your responses may be slower.
  • Have light meals so you don’t overload the body to allow it to focus on healing.
  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine as these are toxins and stimulants and will reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.
When can I expect to feel the benefits?

At the end of the treatment, clients often feel a difference either in a reduction of discomfort, improved movement and or within themselves.  Sometimes it’s a challenge to be able to identify what’s different other than an awareness or feeling of something having changed until the treatment has integrated into the body, which happens over the coming days, weeks and even months.

How many treatments will I need?

The honest answer is that I don’t know, as there are numerous factors that can dictate how many treatments are needed or wanted to achieve the best possible health outcome for an individual.

Many experience noticeable differences within 7 days of their initial treatment.  These changes can continue for the following weeks and months after.

I highly recommend booking a follow-up treatment approximately 3 to 4 weeks after the initial session.  This time frame allows for the body to integrate the changes and to settle, to then allow the next phase if needed.

Any further follow-up or maintenance treatments can be discussed on an individual basis.

How long are the appointments?

An initial treatment is 90 minutes.  Follow-up treatments are 60 minutes.
