Into Balance Therapies offers Gentle Release Therapy - Image of dark haired lady lying on her back with fingertips touching forehead

Both Gentle Release Therapy and EnerQi Facial Rejuvenation treatments bring together the understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), energy work and cranial release.

TCM views health as the state of balance and harmony within the body and between the body and the person’s environment.  Therefore, a persons’ health cannot be separated from their environments and it emphasises the integration between physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

TCM philosophises that health and life is achieved by the continuous and harmonious flow of vital energy (known as Qi) around the body.  Where Qi is in balance and flowing freely around the body, no symptoms of discomfort or illness are present.

In TCM the organs of the body (Liver, Heart, Spleen, Kidney, and Lungs) are associated with specific functions and roles that go beyond their anatomical counterparts in Western medicine which encompass physical, emotional, and energetic aspects of health.

Organ Associations

Each organ is associated with an internal aspect of the body e.g. a sensory organ and bodily tissue i.e. ligaments and tendons.  They are also connected to and affected by aspects influenced by our external environments e.g. emotions, life stress, the climate and seasons.

When the energy of the organ is affected balance and flow may be disrupted.  The symptoms of discomfort and illness we experience are considered an indication of that imbalance.  To reduce the symptoms the balance and flow of energy needs to be restored.

The Liver Organ

For example, the Liver organ is associated with ligaments and tendons.  An imbalance could surface as physical aches and pains, tightness, imbalances and potential injury.

The Liver is impacted by feelings of anger and frustration (i.e. feeling stressed) so, people experiencing these emotions over prolonged periods are likely to experience tension and tightness, especially in the Shoulders.

The Liver is responsible for the flow of Qi around the body which if blocked or restricted may contribute to physical pain and fatigue.   The time of day associated with the Liver is 1-3am so, insomnia at this time can be a sign that the Liver is struggling.  Liver issues may also surface as eye problems, dizziness, migraines and headaches, digestion issues and hot flushes to name a few.

What to expect during Gentle Release Therapy

In a Gentle Release Therapy treatment we would generally start by helping the abdominal organs and system to harmonise and rebalance by releasing any blocks or restrictions that needs to be released to facilitate the flow of Qi.

Due to the role of the Liver, we would generally start there.  It is not unusual to spend a good portion of the first treatment with a new client helping to support the Liver as it’s very susceptible to the stresses and strains of today’s lifestyle.  The same process is then used to support the other abdominal organs and areas of the body.

Release Emotional Blocks

The process is an incredibly gentle way of releasing emotional blocks that may still be stored in the body even when we think the events are long forgotten.

Sometimes during a treatment a memory of an event, time period or person may come to mind.  You’d be welcome to share it if you wished as this can also be part of the releasing process.

Equally, we don’t have to know the ‘what’ or ‘why’ of what is being released there is just a sense of feeling relaxed, calmer, lighter and clearer in ourselves.

After my treatments I often couldn’t tell you why I feel better, I just do.  I feel clearer like I have space in my head and I’m just able to ‘get on’ with things.  The sometimes distracting thoughts aren’t present.

How would ‘just feeling better’ help you?
