Gentle Release Therapy
Ormskirk
Gentle Release Therapy is a wonderfully relaxing and soothing therapy that could be considered a blend of Reiki and Acupuncture (without needles).
Using Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to understand what’s happening within the body, energy techniques are used to enable the body to release the stress and tension of life that can build up and get stuck in the body which can build up into symptoms of physical and/or emotional discomfort e.g. digestive issues, problems sleeping or generally just not feeling like yourself.
Each treatment is bespoke to the individual as we intuitively work with the unique web of life experiences held by each individual.
Gentle Release Therapy works with different systems of the body. We would usually start with the Abdominal system to clear any blocks and restore the balance and flow of energy or ‘Qi’ of the TCM Organs and around the body before moving onto the Craniosacral system. We also include the lymphatic and endocrine systems as required. Acupuncture points can also incorporated into the treatment for specific actions. We work intuitively with the body and allow it to take the lead in guiding us through the releasing of the stress and tension that has become stuck in the body.
Gentle Release Therapy can support clients with a wide range of conditions such as aches and pains, digestive issues, menstrual issues, peri and menopause symptoms and anxiety amongst many others. Get in touch if you would like to discuss your needs.
After a treatment clients often feel lighter, incredibly relaxed and calmer in both body and mind. Clients often report getting an amazing night’s sleep or feeling more energised to get the work done that they have been struggling with for ages!

I’d had a stressful year with different family members having significant health challenges.
I struggle with fatigue and energy levels anyway but wasn’t managing to get them back up to what is good for me and needing to sleep for a couple of hours in the afternoon.
My back was aching and playing me up and I felt up and down probably due to being menopausal.
The Gentle Release Therapy sessions left me feeling the most relaxed I’ve felt in years.
It’s unusual & incredible how energy is noticeably affected within the body.
I floated home, didn’t sleep as much as usual that afternoon and my back has felt much looser since. It’s also relaxed muscles I didn’t even realise with tight.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear to a treatment?
Gentle Release Therapy is a fully clothed treatment. Wear clothing which allows you to relax and feel comfortable during your treatment.
The treatment is usually delivered with clients lying on their backs with the support of pillows and blankets to make you as comfortable as possible. However, treatments can take place in any position and the couch can be adjusted so you are not completely flat.
Once comfortable we can start the treatment.
What happens during a Gentle Release Therapy treatment?
During the treatment, I will lightly rest my hands or fingertips on areas of the abdomen, head, face and feet. You may experience sensations of heat, cold, movement or see colours during the treatment. You are welcome to chat with me, share what you are experiencing if anything, or close your eyes and relax.

We work intuitively with the body and allow it to take the lead in guiding us through its process of releasing the stress and tension that has become stuck in the body.
At the end of the session we’ll have an opportunity to share our experiences of the session if you wish, have a drink and prepare to leave.
We recommend trying to ensure that you don’t have too much planned after your session, especially if it is your first. Space time to relax or would be perfect.
Should I do anything after the treatment?
Following your treatment, we recommend that you:
- Drink plenty of water to help flush out impurities and detoxify the body.
- Try to rest for the rest of the day to enhance the treatment and allow the body to heal.
- Take care whilst driving, you will be in relaxed state and your responses may be slower.
- Have light meals to allow your body to focus on healing, so you don’t overload the body.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine as these are toxins and stimulants and will reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.
When can I expect to feel the benefits?
Immediately after a treatment clients often feel lighter, more relaxed and calmer in both body and mind. Clients often report experiencing a better night’s sleep or feeling more energised to get tasks done that they have been struggling with for a while.
The majority of clients start to feel a difference within a day or two which builds during the treatment process. Some feel more energised, more relaxed and like a weight has lifted. For others is a slower process where they notice the difference a couple of days after the treatment.
However, some clients may also feel a little bit worse, more tired and lethargic and symptoms may appear worse before they get better. This is just how different bodies process and clear the results of the treatment. The feeling should pass after a day or so after which most clients experience the benefits.
How many treatments will I need?
The honest answer is that I don’t know. There are so many factors that can influence how many treatments are needed to rest health to the best that it can be.
I find most clients start to experience a more consistent change in their symptoms and feel better from a minimum of 3 treatments.
For some, this may be sufficient and they may choose to continue with maintenance treatments. For others, this would be the start of the process.
As part of the initial consultation I will recommend how many treatments I feel would initially be beneficial to make an impact on the reduction of symptoms and improvement in your health and wellbeing.
How long are the appointments?
Gentle Release Therapy appointments are of 60 mins duration.
