About Jay

Hi there!

Welcome to Into Balance Therapies.  I’m Jay a sun-loving, garden-pottering, book dragon because I love to get lost in mythical worlds and I acquire books much faster that I can actually read them!

Let me tell you a bit more about why I do what I do and the journey that led me here.

My path to starting Into Balance Therapies combines seemingly separate threads that I have gradually been following over the last 10 years as a result of seeking answers to my own frustrations and those of clients.

In the last couple of years, those threads have gradually drawn together and brought me to where I am now.  I’m a perpetual student with the curiosity of a cat – I probably said ‘why’ a lot as a child – has driven a need to want to know and understand more to help myself and others.

Since I’ve had the option to choose my learning interests it’s been trying to understand how humans work whether it was physiologically or psychologically.  Having experienced periods where my emotional health has been challenged I’ve continuously engaged in personal development work to understand myself better.

My Why…. help people live a better life by improving how their body works for them

I highly value my health and wellbeing, which for me, includes my physical, emotional and spiritual aspects.  I don’t believe full health can be achieved without all these components.  I’m still very much a work in progress but it’s through the process of personal development that’s guided me to the therapies I offer.  I feel that how the modern world operates and societal conditioning is driving a lot of stress that becomes stored within the body and creating physical and/or emotional dis-ease.

We are seeing an increase with society of the number being diagnosed with chronic conditions, symptoms and health conditions that are not life threatening but can be debilitating none the less.  Conventional medicine primarily relies on drugs as a method of treatment and whilst this may help to manage the symptoms experienced, but in many cases they are not as effective as we would wish, can often produce some undesirable side effects and don’t resolve the underlying issues which prevents the restoration of health to the best it can be.  Modern medicine is a marvel but when it comes to the treatment of chronic conditions it may not be the best solution.

I feel we tend to look at the body like a machine made up of separate systems but it’s so much more complex than that.  The types of treatment modalities have often involve having something done to it.  What if we were able to listen to the body to find out what it needs to
